Fees, Medicare and Rebates:

Counselling services are not currently eligible for rebates from Medicare and therefore fees apply to all appointments. In some cases rebates may be available through NDIS or a Private Health Insurer. As these arrangements are highly variable please contact us to discuss your specific circumstances.

Appointments:

Initial appointments include additional time for intake and evaluation, usually conducted via phone or video in advance of the first appointment, depending on client need.

Standard appointment bookings are for 50 minutes

For individual counselling with clients aged under 12 we encourage a parent/guardian to be present and engaged in each session (in whole or in part). Sessions with children who have an accompanying parent/guardian are still charged at the individual rate.

For family/couple/group counselling, there may be a need to meet with each individual as part of intake and evaluation.  These are one-off sessions and would be charged at the Standard Appointment rate for Individual Counselling (per person).

The family/group rates quoted above are for up to 4 people (including children). If your family/group is larger than this please contact us so that we can provide a fee structure tailored to your needs.

We kindly ask that all accounts settled either before or at the time of your appointment.

Concession Rates/Financial Hardship:

Thumos is committed to ensuring appropriate mental health care is available and accessible

Fees may be adjusted for clients experiencing hardship, or for clients who are in high-risk, high-need situations. Please contact us to discuss your specific circumstances.

Bookings & Cancellations:

Clients are encouraged to book sessions at a consistent time and frequency based on their need and therapeutic goals. This maximises the chance of your preferred appointment time/location being available.

Should you need to change or cancel an appointment please contact us at least 2 business days before your scheduled time. Rescheduled appointments are subject to availability.

Any appointment cancellations or changes not made with at least 2 business days notice will incur a fee equivalent to 50% of the scheduled rate.

Cancellations or ‘no-shows’ on the day of your appointment will incur fees equivalent to 100% of the scheduled rate.

Cancellation fees may be adjusted or waived in exceptional circumstances at the discretion of Thumos.

We ask that clients arrive on time for scheduled appointments. Late arrivals will not be given additional time beyond the scheduled finish time.
